Here is four web server basic functionality. First function is processing of HTTP request. This function will recieve and respond to client request HTML pages. Second function is file transfer protocol which is permits transfer of very large file from server to server. Third function is e-mail where the ability to send, recieve and store e-mail message. Forth function is data capture. data capture will log file of all visits, time, duration and referral source.
